Summer Research Opportunity Program – SROP (for non-U-M Ann Arbor undergraduate students, U-M Flint, and U-M Dearborn students)
The University of Michigan Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) is designed for outstanding undergraduate students who are underrepresented in their field of study. The goal of this program is to provide students with the opportunity to conduct an intensive graduate-level research project with faculty and graduate students at the University of Michigan. This eight-week program, held on the Ann Arbor campus, culminates in a research symposium where each participant presents their research project. Throughout the program, all students will engage in a series of academic, professional, and personal development seminars.
The goal of this program is to:
- Introduce students to and prepare them for advanced studies in a graduate program at U-M.
- Build professional and personal networks to support students’ interest in joining the academic community.
- Encourage students to apply to a graduate program at U-M.
