SROP FAQ

What is the minimum GPA requirement?

All applicants who have attained a GPA of 3.5 or above are strongly recommended.

Are applications from international students accepted?

SROP is only for domestic students (U.S. citizens, permanent residents or undocumented students with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) are eligible).

Are SROP participants allowed to take courses during the summer?

No, SROP is an intensive research experience and we expect your full-time commitment to the program.

When does the application become available?

The application is now available for the Summer 2017 program.

When is the last day to complete the application?

The application must be completed by January 15, 2017 including all of the following:

(1) CoE SROP online application
(2) Unofficial transcripts including all final Fall 2016 grades from all colleges/universities
(3) 1 faculty letter of support which may be uploaded to the application.
(4) 1 academic statement.
(4) Resume.

The application process allows me to submit recommender emails, will this notify them or should I email them directly myself?

This form will email the professor following the submission, however you may still want to notify your recommender asking if they are willing to write a letter for you. In the situation where a recommender does not receive a notification email, you can have them email us the recommendation letter directly at [email protected]
